Local schools growing competition.

Local Horsham schools joined us for judging our Busy Lizzie growing competition, now in its 3rd year.

Year 3 classes at Arunside, Castlewood, Greenway and Holbrook Primary Schools took part to grow a busy lizzie from a plug plant. The Judging took place by Phillip Martin and Sally Coldwell from the plant area team as masses of children looked on eagerly to see if their plant would win.

Each class had a winner with those then going forward to be judged ‘Best in Show’ to win a £50.00 Hillier token for their school. 

Over 60 children turned up with their nurtured Busy Lizzie.

Congratulations to Holbrook School who won the overall prize and very well done to all the budding gardeners.  

Horsham’s strength is that it’s a very plant focused centre and has a huge selection of core gardening products. You can spend hours just browsing to find good ideas to easily put into your garden. Phil Martin leads the plant area team. David, Sally and Paul all know their plants and are very happy help you select the right plants for the right location.
